What you'll do

Getting in touch with a local population means, eating, drinking and finally cooking like a local. With me you can do this! We will go shopping together. We will then go to my "Smileandfood" cooking school and in a totally informal atmosphere, we will prepare a typical Sicilian lunch or dinner, starting from fresh, seasonal and local ingredients. The experience will last about 4 hours, everyone will be welcome, even your children and grandparents. We will start from the Ortigia market (if it will take place in the morning, or we will meet directly at my school in the afternoon for a welcome drink). So what are you waiting for, book and you will live like a true Sicilian the experience of going to the market to do the shopping, you will taste the best typical products, the most sincere wine and then you will cook with a real chef, who loves seasonal and local products! Parmigiana, Caponata in Bittersweet, fresh pasta, cannoli and arancine, will have no more secrets, not even for you !!!
Other things to note
The experience is suitable for everyone. To families, people with disabilities and all those who must follow a glute-free, lactose-free and vegetarian diet. Together with the chef you will move on foot by taking a comfortable walk. We will follow everyone's rhythm, you are all welcome!

I am a professional chef. I work with Slow Food Sicilia. I have two cooking schools, where I hold professional and amateur cooking classes for everyone, also in English. I have been working as a personal chef and home chef for many years. I specialize in traditional Sicilian dishes. I am the daughter of a family of fishmongers, and I myself have been for several years, managing the family fishmonger at the Ortigia street market in Syracuse. After opening my restaurant, in the heart of the historic center of Syracuse, I decided to become a mother and dedicate myself to teaching and activities that did not keep me relegated to 4 walls for over 18 hours a day. Now I live in the countryside, I produce my olive oil, I grow my vegetable garden and I milk my cows. During every season I change my life like the plants in my garden!
