What you'll do

An unforgettable, educational experience visiting the unique glow worms after a short walk through World Heritage listed forest and rainforest. We will meet at sunset, spending a little time introducing ourselves and safety briefing.
Then as the stars begin to appear, with the use of torches, we will begin our 20 minute walk to the overhanging cave and waterfall, with the possibility of seeing our amazing nocturnal wildlife. Possums, gliders, owls and bats to name just a few. Another truly amazing encounter, only within the first 3 weeks of summer is the chance of fireflies. We will spend 30 minutes to an hour in the overhang, behind the waterfall learning about these incredible glowing larvae and why they glow.
The track is mostly in good condition, though there are some stairs and heavily eroded sections therefore a medium fitness level is required.
Glow worms are extremely sensitive to light and sound so we will ask our clients to respect this and there will be a 5 minute educational talk around this before entering the cave. Smoking is strictly prohibited on this tour. We recommend bringing your own torches, though we can supply if needed.
Minimal impact is very high on our list of priorities and instructions will be given on how to achieve this. We ask our clients to adhere to these rules.

Born in the Blue Mountains, fully qualified and guiding clients for over 20 years. The last 11 years have been with the National Parks and Wildlife Service, introducing 1000's of clients to this incredibly special and unique natural wonderland I live in. I have an extensive knowledge base on all Blue Mountains topics, with a number of television appearances to highlight this. To say I am passionate about nature would be an understatement and I truly love sharing this with others. I have been bushwalking, climbing, canyoning, abseiling, mountain biking and camping in the Blue Mountains from as early as I can remember. I genuinely look forward to sharing my skills and knowledge and hosting you on this unique tour.

Hazelbrook is lovely small town in the heart of the mid mountains, 20 mins drive from the iconic tourist destination Katoomba. Your own transport is preferable for this tour but not necessary.

Jamie was an awesome guide and a great guy, very knowledgeable about the local area and wildlife and extremely respectful of the environment . His delivery made the tour suitable, educational and fun for all ages. Great secluded location will thousands of amazing gloworms to be seen and other wildlife along the way. Just the right length and grade of bush walk for all ages at night time. The safety rules and their importance were explained really well and were easy for the kids in the group to understand and follow. Highly recommended experience.

This was such a fantastic experience from start to finish. Jamie made it great fun for our three kids from 6-12 years. Lots of great storytelling sharing his knowledge of the bush and animals around us that really engaged the kids and taught them so much. As well as us adults! Then the part of the experience that we had all been waiting for.. the glow worms...such a magical and unique experience that we will all remember as the highlight of our trip to the Blue Mountains. Jamie was a great teacher, enthusiastic, passionate and fun. A wonderful evening walking in the bush. We have already spotted several of the creatures and plants we learned about in our Blue Mountains walks since. An Inspiring experience!
