Exclusive Vatican Experience

What you'll do

Enrich your Vatican experience by joining this personal, semi-private tour where we can delve into the fabulous art and history that surrounds the Vatican Museums, Sistine Chapel and St Peter's Basilica.

We’ll begin at the Vatican Museum, a labyrinthine complex featuring over 1000 rooms that cover four millennia. Those visiting unguided often find themselves dazzled by the work on display here – which can make it somewhat difficult to navigate. But we have curated a route through the museum that packs in all the best bits – without leaving you lost for hours in its maze-like corridors.

Our next stop is the world-famous Sistine Chapel, best-known for its sprawling ceiling art painted by Michelangelo. This seminal work is said to have changed the course of Western Art – which may sound a tad dramatic, but trust me: when you see it, you’ll believe it. The rules dictate silence upon entry to the chapel, which isn’t usually a problem – it’s sheer beauty leaves most speechless.

Throughout the experience you will have a head-set to ensure you can hear your host clearly.

I’m a foodie, a sports-fan and a history-buff from England. I first visited Rome whilst interrailing through Europe in the summer before I went to university - and instantly fell in love. It was then that I was introduced to the tourism industry, and I knew straight away that it was my future.

I went back to England and studied at Bournemouth University for 3 years and successfully graduated with a Business and Economics degree. During my holidays I’d return to Rome to study history for my guide license and work in tourism. Juggling a degree and Roman History was no easy task, but now I’m combining two of my greatest passions in life.

In June 2019 I began working with Airbnb. It has been a life-changing experience for me and my team of expert co-hosts. We would love for you to join us be a part of it! We speak Eng, Deu, Esp & French!

We were guided by Barbara, a fantastic and energetic guide from Harry's group, who gave us a very balanced and interesting tour at the Vatican without boring details or unnecessary details!🙌 We were a total of four guests, and we felt sorry for the other tourists at the Vatican, walking in packed groups of 20 with earphones, maps and total confusion written all over their face😅Good English and a lot of cool facts made it fun, and Barbera had a special eye for details. It took around 2h, and we got the best compact history, art, religion, political and geography-class we've ever had 😄A notice to people booking the experience - be on time, please read the description on Airbnb, being on time, with correct masks and greenpass ready, so the tour isn't delayed 🤗

Marco our host was an amazing guide! I’m so glad we booked this tour because we wouldn’t have had the rich history and story telling without it. Definitely worth if you’re planning a visit to the Vatican Museum.

Christina was a fantastic guide. Very knowledgeable and very personable. She showed us great highlights (there’s just too much to see in a few hours or a day!) and also explained little details about artwork, architecture, and history.

Marco brought to life the magical history of the Vatican and catered our tour to our interests—no monologuing for hours as you follow along. His knowledge of the material was exceptional, and he brought together elements from our other tours to ensure we had context for everything we saw. Thank you for the wonderful tour Marco!

We had Christina as our guide. She was absolutely amazing. Our tour of the Vatican will forever hold a special place with me because of Christina. Our tour was incredible and I can’t recommend it enough!
