What you'll do

What’s better than a snowy day playing in freshly fallen snow in the Big Bear wilderness? If your adventure guide brings cocktails of course! Aside from being your nature guide on this trip into the best place for you and your family to play in the snow, I also provide Bailey’s with coffee for the adults. Which is my favorite thing to drink while frolicking in the snow.
Our tour begins at a snowy place in the Big Bear Valley. This can be a different location based on how much snow we have on a particular day.
From there I will guide you to one of the prettiest snowy wilderness areas for great family photos, a short snowy hike and snow play. All these places are a local's secret & for the most part not crowded. In these times of Covid it's a safer alternative to crowded snow play areas with tons of tourists.
There’s a great little hike we can do to an amazing viewpoint to get snowy family photos to start the tour. It’s about half a mile each way. From there I will show you some nice hills for sledding and pretty areas for snow play.
I’ll hang out with your group for an hour to an hour and a half to answer any questions you might have about the Big Bear area and show you the best places to play in the snow, take great photos with snowy views etc. Dogs are welcome on this hike. Please bring your own sleds. (I do not provide sleds as they often break)

I’ve been playing in the snowy Big Bear mountains for the past thirty years. When I was eight years old my mom told me to “Go outside and play” and I basically never stopped. I have hiked or mountain biked nearly every trail in the San Bernardino National Forest and know this forest like the back of my hand.
I often take friends with kids out to play in the snow and know all the best-kept secrets of this truly wild place; Away from the crowds. I love to take my dog with me to these snowy places and if you are visiting with your pup I encourage you to bring them too! All my hikes are pup-friendly.
I have had a lot of guests asking what the current snow conditions are like on the trails where I take my guests for hikes & snow play.

Me, my husband, our teenage boys and our puppies had a great time. The hike through the forest was beautiful, and the sledding was so fun! My puppy met a new friend and had the time of his life! The coffee & baileys, and hot chocolate for the boys was a nice finishing touch. I definitely recommend!!

Amazing time with Amber! She let us take our time hiking up to the great location. Super patient for non experienced hikers to take a breather. Coffee and baileys helps too! At the end she even recommended more places for us to check out. Great experience!

It was a great experience. Amber took us up a nice walk we wouldn't otherwise have visited, and our puppy loved it, too. The baileys and coffee cockltails were delicious.

Amber was amazing as a hiking host. She brought Bailey’s coffee which was a nice touch and the area that we went on our hike was not only great for adults but also kid friendly considering my friend and I had two small children with us. She was kind and patient and quite knowledgeable about the plant life, so that was actually fun to learn about as well.

Amber was a great host and very accommodating! The location she chose was so quiet, peaceful and not crowded. There wasn’t much snow left in Big Bear but she managed to find a spot that still had some for us to enjoy.

This was the best part of our big bear trip! We let our dog hike with us off leash and he loved playing in the snow.
