What a morning!
We were picked up early with scooters – "to work" – and landed in a small family noodle business. There we were allowed to help, learned an incredible amount and had a really authentic, warm experience with the noodle family.
Then it continued: fish sauce production, sleeping mat production, morning fish market – and to top it off, a rice wine distillery that also produces Chinese medicine. In huge jars were mushrooms, roots and all sorts of animals in 60% alcohol – around 30 varieties.
The tasting was like Russian roulette: everyone blindly chose a bottle with Vietnamese labels. Very exciting. Very funny. Very strong.
A lively, exciting and all-around special morning.
