About your host

I took up pottery 6 years ago after moving to Los Angeles from New York City. I fell in love with the craft because I find it keeps me centered and focused in this busy world. I have taught for the past four years and it gives me great joy to be able to pass my craft along to others!

What we’ll do

We'll meet at my Echo Park pottery studio. I'll give a brief demonstration on how to throw a bowl on the potter's wheel and how to hand-build a cup. Then it's your turn! During our two hour lesson, you will be able to create one piece on the potter's wheel and one hand-built piece. At the end of our lesson, you'll get to select glaze colors from my test tiles. What else you should know

No experience is necessary. I have taught both beginners and seasoned potters for years.

Snacks
If in season, pick figs, pomegranates, or lemons from my trees to take home with you.
Equipment
Potter's wheel, clay and glazes.

What to bring

Comfortable clothes. The clay washes out easily.
