What you'll do

We will meet at the Porta al Prato train station in Florence.

Then I will take you to an ancient and historic Tuscan winery. Here we will taste some of the wines that they make while explaining everything i know about wine, from how it's made and aged to recognising all it's properties.
Afterwards, we will go to my friend's 300-year-old winery farmhouse. We'll taste several wines there—local Chiantis and wines from other major wine regions of Italy—accompanied by cheeses and other snacks. I will teach you everything I know about wine. At the end, I will serve you a traditional Tuscan homemade lunch, and we will pair the food with wines. Finally, I will take you back to the tram station where I picked you up.

Other things to note
Let me know if you are vegetarian or have any dietary restrictions.

I was born in Florence, and moved to the Tuscan countryside a few years ago in order to be closer to where Chianti wines are made. I have had a passion for Italian wine, gastronomy, and history from a young age. My first job was in a Florence wine bar, and I later became a certified sommelier. Now I work as a wine consultant for a few small farmers, and I organize wine adventures in my free time.

Where you'll be

I will take you through the typical Chianti wine region just outside of Florence, where Italy's best wines are made. You will get to see the vineyards, olive groves, and cypress trees that Tuscany is famous for. We will visit a historic wine making facility, and a 300-year-old winery farmhouse.

We had a great time on this tour! It was a combination of how the two wineries make their wine along with the best part ---the tasting and the food. Eventhough the weather was rainy and cold they made sure we were all ok throughout the day. Leonard was fun and polite and is a wealth of information. We truly learned a lot. The lunch was amazing and the wine was so good. It made for a very memorable day. Its refreshing to be able to tour these smaller wineries and get an intimate look at their processes. We purchased wine to ship home at both wineries.

It was cozy, interesting and comfortable tour. We've been here at the end of september, but steel, the excursion was exciting! Thanks a lot Leonard for good attitude, the farm hosters for tasty food and wine, of course! We've known a lot new information about traditional and modern wines. Best for chainty lovers)

Leo was great! He's very knowledgeable about wine and had a depth of knowledge and perspective that was very enlightening. We were met by Antonelo and Roberto at the train station. Roberto is a very safe driver which I appreciated given the reputation Italian drivers have!

I really enjoyed the tour, even though there was some rain on the day I went. Leo was very knowledgeable and I learned a lot about wine and Tuscany. The lunch at the end was lovely.

This was an absolutely amazing experience that we would not have been able to find on any other wine tour! As a Californian, we have the ability to go wine tasting all the time, but this experience blew everything else out of the water. Leonard was very knowledgeable, friendly, and explains the vast differences between Tuscan and American wines, as well as what you’re tasting in each wine, and shows you amazing views. They poured the wine liberally at both locations, and at the second location they provide an incredible spread with a variety of cheese, cured meats, bread, fruit, pasta, dessert, and an espresso. We had a small group that made this experience more intimate and friendly, and truly felt like a once in a lifetime experience.
