What you'll do

A marine biologist will welcome you at the entrance of the Fishermen's Association of Barcelona, a place only accessible to the public if accompanied by us. We will visit a place away from the bustle of the city, and unknown to many, that safeguards the essence of the Mediterranean.
We will see how the fishermen's boats arrive and unload the fresh fish, we will observe the different fishing gear, even the most traditional ones, and we will attend the fish auction live. Then, we will walk through the fishermen's neighborhood, La Barceloneta, where between historical and marine anecdotes we will arrive at a nearby food restaurant, where you can taste the fish from the fish market.

Meet your host, Arianna

Host on Airbnb since 2019
  • Identity verified
We are Anna and Arianna, marine biologists in love with the Mediterranean, their biodiversity, culture and gastronomic tradition. We have been in Barcelona for more than 15 years, from Italy and with international travel, dedicated to scientific research and dissemination. We are responsible for Barcelona Fishing Tourism of the Fishermen's Association of Barcelona. We promote responsible consumption of fish and slow food cooking, and Anna organizes cooking courses to rediscover lesser known fish species.

Where you'll be

The fisherman's wharf and the fish market are inaccessible places without us being the responsible ones authorized by the Fishermen's Association of Fisheries Tourism. You will be able to admire closely the emblematic Clock Tower and learn its history that is intertwined with that of the city of Barcelona. We will walk through the alleys of the Barceloneta neighborhood until we reach one of our favorite restaurants.
