What you'll do
Update: We are OPEN and SAFE. CA and SD are allowing Covid friendly outdoor activities like kayaking to stay open.
La Jolla Bay is a Marine Protected Area that is home to a thriving ecosystem that boasts a high concentration of sea life, has a natural boat launch, which allows safe ocean entry year round, and is famous for its Sea Caves and Marine Reserve.
No experience is required. Your guide will kick things off with a paddle tutorial on the beach. If surf exists we will help push your kayak through any breakers.
As we paddle through La Jolla’s Marine Reserve keep an eye out for Seals, Sea Lions, Sea Turtles, Pelicans, Dolphin and Gray whales in the fall/winter. Note: We cannot always guarantee sea life.
If conditions are safe we will help guide your kayak into Emerald Cave. We have to kayak over and visually inspect the caves to know if it’s safe to enter. Note: if not safe we will not enter and spend a minute inside.
La Jolla Bay is an Uncontrollable Environment. Please come enjoy this place we love knowing each day is different than the last.
Satisfaction Guarantee. Do not feel this was a 5 star trip, message me for a refund.
We are members of 1% For The Planet. Which has given back more than 270 million to the environment.
Great for families, all skill levels & all ages over 5!

The kayaking tour was very enjoyable. I appreciated the time they took to go over everything we needed to know while out on the water. The instructor was welcoming and friendly, making it a more than comfortable environment. He gave us interesting information during the tour but his other stories seemed a little all over the place. I know it’s because we weren’t able to explore the caves, so we didn’t have much of a choice other than waiting and watching for something to happen such as waiting to see wildlife. I did feel like because we missed out on that component (not their fault, solely dependent on the tides due to safety) our instructor was just telling any stories he could think of. It was entertaining for a little but as long as the tour was, it got kind of dry. Overall, it was still a smooth and wonderful experience and would recommend to everyone!

Beautiful views, easy going guides, and some great info regarding coastline and wildlife. We didn't make it inside the caves (waves too strong during winter) but did swim within feet of several dolphins. Shoutout to Reuben for the good time!
