What you'll do
Update: We are OPEN and SAFE. CA and SD are allowing Covid friendly outdoor activities like kayaking to stay open.
La Jolla Bay is a Marine Protected Area that is home to a thriving ecosystem that boasts a high concentration of sea life, has a natural boat launch, which allows safe ocean entry year round, and is famous for its Sea Caves and Marine Reserve.
No experience is required. Your guide will kick things off with a paddle tutorial on the beach. If surf exists we will help push your kayak through any breakers.
As we paddle through La Jolla’s Marine Reserve keep an eye out for Seals, Sea Lions, Sea Turtles, Pelicans, Dolphin and Gray whales in the fall/winter. Note: We cannot always guarantee sea life.
If conditions are safe we will help guide your kayak into Emerald Cave. We have to kayak over and visually inspect the caves to know if it’s safe to enter. Note: if not safe we will not enter and spend a minute inside.
La Jolla Bay is an Uncontrollable Environment. Please come enjoy this place we love knowing each day is different than the last.
Satisfaction Guarantee. Do not feel this was a 5 star trip, message me for a refund.
We are members of 1% For The Planet. Which has given back more than 270 million to the environment.
Great for families, all skill levels & all ages over 5!

What an amazing way to spend a Saturday! We were lucky enough to see a pod of dolphins jumping out of the water within just a few minutes of getting out on the water. The team was super pleasant and everything was well planned and well thought out 100/10! Will absolutely do again.

This Airbnb experience is a must if you are staying in the San Diego area! Patrick and Rachel were both super knowledgeable and helpful about the history of La Jolla, sea life and kayaking. I would definitely recommend this to all of my friends and would do this tour again. Great value and location. Parking wasn’t an issue although I did go during the week. Thank you Patrick and Rachel!

We loved our experience! The weather was nice and the waves were easy. Our two hosts were very welcoming and gave clear safety instructions, they also took time to give us fun facts about the area. Unfortunately we didn’t see any wildlife besides birds and the waves were too wild for the caves. It wasn’t an intense workout, rather a leisurely one.
