What you'll do

Update: We have been OPEN and SAFE since May, 2020.

La Jolla Bay is a Marine Protected Area that is home to a thriving ecosystem that boasts a high concentration of sea life, has a natural boat launch, which allows safe ocean entry year round, and is famous for its Sea Caves and Marine Reserve.

No experience is required. Great for all skill levels. Your guide will kick things off with a paddle tutorial on the beach. If surf exists we will help push your kayak through any breakers.

As we paddle through La Jolla’s Marine Reserve keep an eye out for Seals, Sea Lions, Sea Turtles, Pelicans, Dolphin and Gray whales in the fall/winter. Note: We cannot guarantee sea life.

If conditions are safe we will help guide your kayak into Emerald Cave. If it's not safe to enter Emerald Cave we will still paddle out & explore La Jolla's World Famous Marine Reserve. Note: if not safe we will not enter Emerald Cave, we don't cancel if the cave isn't safe and spend about a minute inside.

La Jolla Bay is an Uncontrollable Environment. Please come enjoy this place we love knowing each day is different than the last.

La Jolla is a popular place to kayak, SUP and surf year long.

Satisfaction Guarantee. Do not feel this was a 5 star trip, message me.

I have loved being on the water my entire life and with great friends, we started Everyday California, an adventure and apparel company, in 2010. Our GUIDES are experts on the water and will make sure you have a memorable experience!

I am permitted by the City of San Diego and SD's Lifeguard Services to operate a kayak concession in La Jolla.

What a great experience!! Awesome weather and I was a bit nervous that the water would be cold, but it was nice and refreshing and we only got wet from waist down. The sun was shining and it was warm out. We loved the whole experience-from an easy check in to locking our personal belongings to the tour. Our guides were awesome! Very knowledgeable!! We saw some sharks, a sea lion swimming, and some fish!

La Jolla was absolutely beautiful and our tour guides were so friendly and knowledgable. We were given really precise and helpful instructions prior to our arrival, and the entire staff was wonderful. Highly recommend them, and we'll be coming back for future rentals and tours.

We left 20 minutes late. My son is over 6 ft tall and the kayak was so uncomfortable for him we had to turn back. Other than that it seemed great

Kayaking was much more fun than I expected. Super storytelling, our guides knew a lot about La Jolla and the surroundings. I felt safe at all times :) thank you

Ruben was great. Loved seeing the 4 sharks and the orange fish and two cute sea lions. Change rooms might not have enough hooks. Great overall. Prepare to get wet. Even a novice can handle themselves, so don’t overthink it, just have fun. Probably drink enough water before starting.

What to bring

We recommend wearing beach attire: a swimsuit, t-shirt, maybe a light windbreaker. Also, depending on the temperature of the water and how much wind is present, we might recommend a wetsuit—bring your own if you have one or you can rent one from us for $10.

We have lockers available for rent (they're $5) if you want to leave your stuff behind. If you don’t want to rent a locker we recommend keeping your valuables in your car.
