Are you ready to explore another old town (Nonthaburi city) near Bangkok?
We will take a public express boat from Sathorn Pier to the town. Along the both Chao Phraya river sides, you can see the Bangkok temples (Wat Arun, Wat Pho), beautiful bridge and how Thais use the boat as a local transportation.
When we arrive at Nonthaburi city, we will visit the 108-year-old teak wood city hall and the clock tower at water front. Next, we will walk to the local market and taste the Thai local dessert influenced from Portuguese.
The highlight time has come! Boarding on the vintage "Fiat" car, the unique taxi that you can only see in this town, we will take a ride to explore the town! (The Fiat car is used as a Taxi and we won't drive). Along the way, we will past to Wat Chaloem Phra Kiat, the ancient royal temple where has a unique characteristic, unlike other temples in Thailand, due to its border walls are fortified like the Grand Palace wall. Let's enjoy the ride with Fiat Car in the city and we will have a delicious lunch at the local restaurant before going back to Bangkok.

Sa-Was-Dee-Krub (Hello! in Thai). I’m Taro, a co-founder of TakeMeTour. My goal is to host travelers from around the world with the best authentic experience in Thailand like never before (yes, believe me!).
My best co-host (called Tun) will take you on this trip. He was born and live in Nonthaburi, a small vintage city near Bangkok. He worked as a sales for 7 years and finally found that this is not what he's looking for. So, he decided to resign his job and started to do what he loves which is being a Local Expert. He loves sharing the Thai culture, the Thai history and his hometown to travelers from around the world. With his experience being a Local Expert for 2 years, you will experience another shade of Thailand!

Where you'll be
You might not know that there's a small vintage town (Nonthaburi city) near Bangkok. We will explore this town: seeing the beauty of the city hall, tasting a Thai dessert at the local market, visiting the temple Wat Chaloem Phra Kiat and of course enjoy a ride on Fiat vintage car!

Nonthaburi is about 50 minutes by boat from Saphan Taksin pier. It's full of history and quiet small community outside Bangkok centre. The local guide has good knowledge of the city, could answer all questions I asked, especially about the mysterious Nonthaburi durain ! I like the temple wat chaloem phra kiat and also see different architecture styles building. The driver is the chairman of Fait car association of Nonthaburi, he is friendly and always has a Thai smile on his face. I feels he enjoyed the tour and proud of the classic car heritage. The old parliament built by teak wood is a secret gem, but it needs more protection and maintenance. We had delicious beef soup noodles lunch and the guide gave me many Thai snacks as souvenirs. Overall, this trip is off the beaten track and worth every penny.
