What we’ll do

We will meet up for breakfast in the bee yard. Enjoy fresh fruit, home made biscuits and some delicious honey from our hives while we discuss the amazing world of the honeybee. After breakfast, we'll don protective clothing and get an up close and personal tour of a beehive or two in one of our urban apiaries. What else you should know

Remember that bees can sting. Honeybees only sting when they feel threatened. Guests are Never put in a place where bees will feel this way, but they are animals and do as they will. Wear light-colored clothing and follow the directions of the beekeepers.

Safety equipment
Head veils are provided to keep the bees away from your face. Honeybees are usually calm but can sting. If thee are concerns for stings it is recommended to wear long pants and light colored long sleeve shirt (this is often unnecessary)

What to bring

Long Pants and light colored tops (long sleeves if worried about stings) NOTE: Honeybees CAN sting but only sting if they feel threatened.

Where you'll be

Commonwealth Bee Company operates apiaries in residential backyards, community gardens, and city rooftops over some of Arlington's amazing businesses, restaurants, and breweries. We will visit our urban bee yard and explore some of our bee hives

Cancellation policy

Any experience can be canceled and fully refunded within 24 hours of purchase, or at least 7 days before the experience starts.

Communication policy

Always communicate through Airbnb. To protect your payment, never transfer money or communicate outside of the Airbnb website or app.

Guest requirements

Up to 8 guests ages 8 and up can attend. No prior experience is needed. Please note hives are usually in areas open to sunlight and hot weather can be present during experiences. Please hydrate prior to attending.

Government ID

You’ll need to take a picture of yourself that matches the photo on your ID. This is so Airbnb can confirm who’s actually going on the experience. You’ll only have to do this once.
