What you'll do

New Experience, please see my Kayak in Jungle with an adventure listing for many 5 star reviews. It is similar trip but on a boat with added island adventure.

I will be meeting you at the public dock in Estero De Damas where we will launch into the wonders of the mangroves. I will guide and help you the whole way as well as take pictures for you to keep as memories. I will explain about the different mangrove trees and point out the many different animals that we encounter or other unique parts of the jungle.

We will then disembark from the mangroves to tour a private area where no other tour companies or tourists can go on Dama's Island. We will then walk through a local farm from one side of the island to the other viewing two private beaches. During the day on your walk we may see wild peacocks, white face capuchin monkeys, iguanas, wild pigs, bulls, sheep, horses, dogs and more. If the time of day is right and we are there for sunset it is spectacular, no obstructions or people around.

I will be your guide for the whole duration to answer any questions you may have. If you wish to bring a cooler for drinks or snacks please feel free.

This experience is also very family friendly.

The boat can host up to 24 people but group sizes will be limited to 8 allowing for social distancing. Boat transportation will be perceived by, Rancho Los Tucanes, Captain Elyin Castillo.

Meet your host, Alex

I was born in Costa Rica, but am part French and was raised in Golfito. I have always been an adventurer, from skateboarding to hiking in the jungle. I went to school to become a licensed guide in Costa Rica, where I learned about all its animals and wildlife. I started one of the first Airbnb Experiences in Costa Rica "Kayak in the jungle with an adventurer" and have continually tried to grow my skills to offer the best tours possible. I am an independent guide and very passionate about nature and wildlife and look forward to sharing me experience with you. I can also speak Spanish, French and English fluently to help explain things to as many people as I can.

Where you'll be

The mangrove jungles are accessible through small waterways (rivers) when the oceans tide is not low. And Damas Island is at the heart of where the ocean waters enter the mangroves where we will be going to tour a private island location.
