What you'll do

Federico García Lorca was one of the most important poets and playwrights of the Spanish Literature. Since his arrival in 1919, he was forever captivated by Madrid and its literary ambiance. We will begin our tour discovering the places Lorca visited with his friends from youth: Salvador Dalí and Luis Buñuel. I will tell you all about their surreal adventures and little known anecdotes from their time in Madrid while we visit Calle Alcalá and El Retiro Park. Our walk will continue towards the old cafes where they used to hold their cultural gatherings. Most of them aren't there anymore, so you will discover them with us! We will pass the beautiful Plaza Cibeles fountain and the Círculo de Bellas Artes building. If you're a history and theatre enthusiast, you'll enjoy knowing the different stages that embraced Lorca's premieres. We will pass those theatres in the historical neighborhood of Barrio de las Letras. We'll finish the tour in the old Cervecería Alemana, opened in 1904, that had García Lorca and Ernest Hemingway as some of their most distinguished customers, where we will share a beer or a soda!
