What you'll do
As soon as you get off the car, you realize the sound of loud chatering, “mototaxis” and birds all around you. You are in Tekit, just in time when people get around to get stuff they need for home: groceries, freshly baked bread, fruits, vegetables and meat. Our local guide will take us into this immersive experience where we´ll bake our own bread; visit a traditional shirt (called “Guayabera") workshop (here you’ll find them less than half the price that in Mérida); then we will head to a traditional home with a self sustain backyard as they used to be before “modern” times, providing food for the family; we will head then to a piece of land (“milpa”) destined to grow corn along with beans, local pumpkin, tomatoes, or anything else the family might need. After walking around the town, we´ll get hungry, but we got you covered and because food is also a very important part of this experience a family will offer us a spot in their table to taste some of their food. And of course we will stop by a "cenote" (type of sinkhole or underground water spring) to have a refreshing swim, just before heading back to Merida as the sun start to set behind us.
Traditional food. could include: corn tortillas, chicken, chicken soup, bread, natural fruit water, fish, pork, lettuce,…

Traveling has been our life, personal and professionally. After consulting for government, NGO´s, and natural protected areas in conservation through tourism, we developed a way to support local businesses in communities away from the eye of tourists and the media. All our experience (biologist-conservationists, tourism expert and business administrator) is put together to develop breath taking experiences lead by local communities. While you enjoy, your visit supports this initiatives that take care of the planet and the way of life in places surrounding big cities.

All of them have something special in their own way and craft local products like typical food, handcrafts, clothes, dances or ceremonies that are known in Mexico. Cost is for 1 to 4 people.
