What you'll do

All around Lisbon, there are many places that make custard tarts - one of Portugal's most famous pastries - but don't get the recognition they deserve, as it happens with Belém's custard tarts. So the purpose of this tour is to show you good places for eating custard tarts around the center of Lisbon - including vegan - and try them, as well as explaining a bit about the history of the places that make them. While we're trying all these custard tarts, we'll also be walking in some interesting areas, which I will be more than happy to show you and talk about them!

We'll be starting the tour at the Cais do Sodré Train Station, and from there on, we'll be seeing places such as the famous Time Out Market, the Rossio Square, and many others!

All my life has revolved around Lisbon: I’ve lived, studied and worked in Lisbon. However, it was only when I started doing tours that I’ve actually gotten to know Lisbon. To appreciate the viewpoints, the hidden monuments, the ginja, the traditional “pastéis de nata”, the cities that surround it. And that’s what I've got to offer: to show the beauty that Lisbon has to offer.

You need a sweet tooth for this tour: five custard tarts in two hours. We should get a medal at end! Ana makes the tour fun and interesting and a nice way to see central Lisbon, not Belem.

I’m not even a sweet tooth but I loved it! The tour was nice and Anna is the best! Truly an amazing local that shares not just about the history of their custard tart but their culture in general! All of her recommendations about where to get this or eat this is and that are all so good. Thanks Anna!

Really great tour of lots of different Pastelaria, and everything was delicious. Ana was great - insightful knowledge, friendly, and patient. I had a really good time. No food needed afterwards!

We were in Lisbon for a short trip and wanted to understand more about the history of the Portuguese custard tarts in a more interactive way, and to efficiently try different tarts without hassle. Ana was very knowledgable and brought us around key places that serve excellent tarts. The vegan option was very interesting and we would not have been able to cover all these bakeries so quickly if not for this tour :) Ana also pointed out other special landmarks and gave us many tips when navigating around Lisbon.
