What you'll do

You will receive a short history of the area as we proceed to several local areas of interest, using access routes that only locals generally know of. At each stop, you will have the opportunity to photograph, receiving guidance from an award-winning, published professional and an introduction to special techniques that will help your images to stand out from the usual snapshots for that area.

Carol

As President of the local photography club and an educator at the local community college, I have been providing lectures and seminars for several years in photography and special photographic techniques. A local instructor and guest speaker at the Northwest Council of Camera Clubs and Photographic Society of America annual conferences, my reviews and ratings reflect that I connect well with all of my students, no matter his or her experience or background. You will have fun while seeing local sights that are off the beaten path while being introduced to fun photography techniques that will make your images stand out when you return home!

What's included

Equipment
I will have some extra tripods for your use. Based on the equipment you are using, I may have some additional items for use…

Where you'll be

Whatcom County has several hidden gems that most visitors either can't get transportation to or can't locate on their own. These areas provide for spectacular photography opportunities that reflect our local natural beauty and our extensive history. We will visit multiple sites, including a couple of waterfalls, some historic sites providing iconic images, and a great view of beautiful Mt. Baker (weather allowing).

Guest safety

Outdoor activities carry risks, and you may be exposed to dangerous situations as part of this experience. Make sure you can participate safely given your abilities and the conditions (such as location, weather, and equipment).

Things to keep in mind

Cancellation policy

Any experience can be canceled and fully refunded within 24 hours of purchase, or at least 7 days before the experience starts.

Communication policy

Always communicate through Airbnb. To protect your payment, never transfer money or communicate outside of the Airbnb website or app.

Guest requirements

Up to 3 guests ages 12 and up can attend. All skill levels are welcome; I will adjust to your skill level at each location. I want your experience to be safe and enjoyable, so: If bringing children, it will be your responsibility to keep them focused…

Government ID

You’ll need to take a picture of yourself that matches the photo on your ID. This is so Airbnb can confirm who’s actually going on the experience. You’ll only have to do this once.

More tips

In this area, it is best to be prepared for weather changes. Wear comfortable shoes with a non-slick bottom, and bring at least a light jacket, preferably with a hood. We are very casual here in the Pacific Northwest!
