About your host

I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and a trained guide with ANFT (Association is Nature and Forest Therapy Guides and Programs). I grew up in Lake Tahoe and get to combine my passion for the outdoors with my education in mental health. I love guiding groups to forest bathe and experience the beauty and inspiration of Lake Tahoe forests!

What we’ll do

We’ll meet at an easy to access location and enter into the forest. I’ll guide you in different invitations to help you slow down and awaken your senses. We’ll walk slowly and engage with nature, noticing how we might connect with it, ourselves, and others. The forest bathing experience ends with a beautiful tea ceremony with tea made from locally foraged plants.

What else you should know

This isn’t a hike- we will walk less than a mile in the 3 hours we’re outside. Wear shoes and clothes you’re comfortable in and that can get a little dirty since we’ll be sitting on the ground. The paved path has a slight incline and we will take it slowly if needed. This is intended to be relaxing.

What I’ll provide

Snacks
Snacks will be gluten free and can accommodate other dietary needs when communicated in advance.
Tea
Tea made from locally foraged plants

What to bring

A seating pad or small chair to sit on the ground
Dress in layers appropriate for the weather
Gloves or hat if the weather is cold

Where you'll be

I’ve scouted out some specific forest trails that are easy to walk on and allow for space to explore, that also aren’t well known or have high volumes of foot traffic. Trails used change with changes in seasons and weather. Forest bathing isn’t a hike, and we’ll end up walking less than a mile in 3 hours.
