What you'll do

We will meet in Moscow's city center in the morning and go to the countryside of Moscow by minibus, with our driver, Vladimir Diakov. We will go to one of the largest dog-kennel in the country situated in a beautiful area on the bank of the Moscow River.

You will be welcomed by Natalia, who has been looking after huskies for ten years already. She will help you tell you the history of dog breeds from the North. Having listened to the stories and having had some hot tea, you'll go and meet more than 120 dogs. This place is not a zoo: you will see that it is a place where once abandoned dogs feel themselves at home, where they are looked after, fed properly, where they can train and express their genuine love for people the best way they can.

Having enjoyed hugging not less than 120 beautiful huskies, you will learn how to make your own sled by a “kayur”, a professional instructor who drives a dog sled. After that your adventure will finally start – enjoying a 4 km ride on a hand-made husky sled in a snow-covered forest near the Moscow River. While the first group of people is having their ride, the others will spend their time tubing from the hill, strolling around, drinking tea and eating traditional Russian pancakes by the fireplace or exploring the farm where you can find hens, geese, goats and pigs.

After all this, we'll go back to Moscow together by minivan
Other things to note

With my friend Pavel, we proposed to a local agency to develop a new part of their business : propose genuine local experiences to tourists in Russia. Because tourism is changing, and people are looking for unique memories, we wanted to propose off-the-beaten-track experiences. I'm from France, and I live in Russia for 5 years now, and Pavel is a native of Moscow. We combined our knowledge of what people are looking for when coming in Russia, and what this country has to offer. Working in the tourism industry for 5+ years, Pavel has the best contact list in both Moscow and St. Petersburg. Thanks to all this, we are now able to propose you tours to hidden husky kennels, to organize traditional Russian picnics in the nature, to invite you for French-Russian dinners in our home in Moscow, or to visit St. Petersburg in a kayak.

Where you'll be

We'll bring you to one of the best Husky-kennel, located around 80km from Moscow. This place, located in the middle of the nature, in a peaceful area on the bank of the Moscow River; it's a real snow paradise in the winter.
In this kennel, more than 120 huskies are living. They have space to run and use their energy as they need. There is also a little local farm with various animals that you'll be able to visit.

I got to do this experience with Pavel, one of the hosts and I can safely say this was the highlight of my trip to Moscow! Pavel and his colleague Anastasia had extremely deep insights about the origins of this husky farm and were able to personalise te experience based on what I was interested in hearing about. They were extremely accommodating and I left this experience with two new friends.
