What you'll do

A nice and varied walk through various different urban and park landscapes, showing and telling about some of Uruguayan history, native flora and fauna, visual arts, music and culture. We'll meet at Plaza Varela, visit some sculpture an mural works, walk in the neighbourhood getting to know different kinds of urbanizations and architecture, talk about uruguayan society, get to know some native flora examples, and finish with a walk through Parque Rodó, where we'll talk about uruguayan music. The activity is conceived in two parts: the walking tour we'll take together and the follow-up you can do by yourselves after the ending of the tour, following the suggestions map wich complements the experience with various interesting visits in the area.

Amalia

I am an architect and I love history, arts and cities. I also love Montevideo and discovering always a little bit more about it. Parque Rodó is my neighbourhood and also where I went to university. I grew up in the northern Uruguay, on the border with Brazil, in close contact with the Uruguayan countryside. I've been living in Montevideo for almost 20 years now.
