What you'll do
We will meet up at the farm centre, right in the middle of the barns, stables and other buildings, all constructed back in 1883. We will then head out for the cows!
We have an old swedish landrace called Rödkulla (Polled Red), a race that has not been intensively bred, but looks like the Swedish cows looked a hundred years ago. Depending on the season we will visit them in and around the main stable (winter time) or we will head out to the pasture to visit them in their natural habitat (summer time).
During the visit you will learn all about cows, steers, heifers and bulls and in particular about the ethology of origin cows. What makes a cow feeling comfortable? We will also talk about organic farming and all the challenges connected to that.
On the way back we will take a look at our century old pastures, covered with oak trees that gave the Swedish Navy wood for constructing war ships in the 17th century and now give the cows shadow and rain protection in the summer.
After visiting cows and oaks we will sit down in our farm restaurant, situated in the old horse stable. There we will eat traditional Swedish meal, a soup on organic meat and vegetables, all from Magda and from our neighbouring farmers.

- Identity verified
I am the current farmer on this land, carrying on an eight hundred year tradition of breeding cows and agriculting the soil. After almost two decades as an air force pilot I started at the family farm back in 2011 and are now spending all my time with the boots on the ground. Deeply interested in spreading the word about sustainable farming I now welcome you to Magda in Näshulta, Södermanland County!

Where you'll be
Magda is an active farm in the heart of Södermanland. Here there has been cows in the pastures since 1244 and they are still lying under the oak trees in the summertime. We have been an organic farm since 1976, when a Dutch guy came to us with this new (and back then crazy) ideas to stop with pesticides and fertilisers. Now we are proud to have been organic in over 40 years! Situated just under 2 hrs from central Stockholm.
