Winter Season = low egg production. There are normally at least a few, but we feel it is important to "set egg-spectations" beforehand. =D

My husband and I founded and ran a farm and CSA program called Moonlit Meadow on Kauai for the last 5 years. Now we are creating a permaculture farm and food forest on our homestead we host on by the Salish Sea. Where you'll be

The Forest Farmstead is a 2 acre home and newly beginning permaculture farm and food forest. We will meet in front of the barn and walk past the cedar trees back to the pondside poultry area.

There, we will greet our livestock guardian dog and answer questions about livestock guardians before continuing on to the birds.

We will introduce you to our chickens and pekin and khaki campbell ducks, discuss poultry care and gather eggs.

Wow, what a wonderful experience! My partner and I loved chatting with Brittney, meeting all of her wonderful animals, and learning about permaculture. Meeting Chuck and getting to feed him and the other chickens and ducks was lots of fun. The little details were really thoughtful and made the experience exciting and memorable! I would definitely recommend this to anyone, and will certainly take Brittney up on her offer to stay in touch down the road when we get some chickens of our own :)
