What you'll do

We meet up by the two stone pillars at Ingólfur Square. The square named after the first settler of Iceland, Ingólfur Arnarsson, so a perfect setting to start our walk through Icelandic history. From there, we walk to check out his Viking Longhouse, talk about the Icelandic Sagas a little, and discover how Reykjavik came to be.
In old town Reykjavik, we will see the oldest house in the city center dating back to 1762, and from the period Reykjavik became a town. We will check out an Elf stone in the city center and give a small glimpse into the mythology of Iceland, Elves & Trolls, and of course, the story of this particular Elf stone.
On we walk towards the Reykjavik harbor, admiring the magnificent Harpa concert hall before we walk past the Eagles hill where Icelanders come together on special occasion to celebrate. A stop by the oldest stone house in Reykjavik is in order, built 1770, and there we talk about the story of how Iceland became an independent nation. It's a short walk up the main shopping street to look at the magnificent Hallgrímskirkjachurch, and of course, the topic there is the history of religion in Iceland.
A stop by the Reykjavik pond is in order, checking out the birdlife, The Reykjavik city council building, and admiring the scenery.
Our Final stop is by the Parliament building of Iceland, where we discuss politics & the guardian spirits ;).
Other things to note
The semicircle we walk on our Reykjavik Walking Tour is wheelchair accessible and a pretty easy walk.

We know how to entertain as well as educate like hundreds of 5-star reviews can confirm. You are also in safe hands with us as we are official tour guides and members of the Icelandic Tourist Guide Association which is granted only to those who have passed a comprehensive one-year training program, approved by the Icelandic Ministry of Education.

Where you'll be

We want you to feel the unique, friendly atmosphere of our quirky little city, not just to see the most popular tourist attractions. We’ll even have a small lesson on the Icelandic language so you can not only walk with a Viking but talk like one too.

We’ll be showing you our favorite places to eat, drink and visit (we also have an intimate knowledge of happy hour deals that we’re happy to share).

We highly enjoyed our tour with Bardi, who has a wealth of local knowledge as a born & bred Icelander! We enjoyed the personal anecdotes, his thoughtfulness and willingness to answer any questions. Highly recommended.

Me and my husband did the tour in early March and Bardi was our tourguide. He was really nice with us and showed us some spots of the city, where to eat, what to visit, took some photos of us etc, but we wish we had learned more the history of Iceland, like historical facts and curiosities.

Great tour! Petra, our guide, was super friendly, cheerful and fund to be with. She really accommodated our questions while sharing the Viking, elf and gnome history of the area. Maybe due to the day and season it was just my daughter on the tour, which made it even special, especially when we saw other your groups of 20 or more walling around. We really lucked in to something special.

We had an excellent experience on our tour! Very friendly and informative. Very easy to locate the meeting spot. We got started right away. We started with some Viking history and sagas, which was exactly what I was looking for. Then walked through the city as we continued to hear about the history and major events that occurred here (as well as great food stops and shops we passed along the way). My boyfriend and I were the only ones who had signed up, so we were able to ask any questions we had, and learned a little Icelandic. I wish I would have done this tour 4 years ago when I visited Iceland for the first time.
