What you'll do

Growing up in the house where my mom taught Tea ceremony, it is a daily activity for me. Sitting on tatami in Tea ceremony room makes me feel at home! I want you to experience the spirit of Japan! I will lead you to the traditional Japanese style Tea room with Tatami mats first. The tea room is on the 65th floor overlooking Mt. Fuji, Miura Peninsula, and all the areas from Minato Mirai, Yokohama to the Pacific Ocean. 1. Once we get in, I will show you the view in sun and explain where things are first. 2. Then you will experience Tea Ceremony a. We will choose the room to have a ceremony as a group from: 1. Big Tatami room 2. Small Tatami room (feels very private) 3. Chair room for those who don't want to sit down on Tatami. b. Receive sweets and eat them - I will show you how to take them and how to eat them. c. Receive Matcha green tea and drink it - I will show you how to receive it, appreciate the tea cup, drink it, then return it to the server. 3. After the ceremony, you will be able to see the sunset then the city lights up like diamonds. After the ceremony, you can join my other tour. I'm a pro cook and have been teaching for years in the US! I offer restaurant hopping only (https://bit.ly/34yG8JU), Combination of tea and food (https://bit.ly/2qohA7J) in Japan and Ramen (sushi & others) cooking class in SF (https://bit.ly/2JUqDEy)

Mari

I live in two of the best places in the world: the San Francisco and Tokyo Bay Areas. I'm a professional Japanese chef in SF who is licensed and has experience running restaurants serving Ramen, Sushi, etc. My restaurant was named Top 100 by the SF Chronicle and a Top 6 Izakaya in the US by Bon Appetit. I've been teaching super popular "how to make Ramen" class in San Francisco for 5+ years and "how to make Sushi" for 15+ years, which was highlighted in Sunset magazine. Now that I stay in Japan longer period, I’ve decided to create events to showcase where I grew up to my guests and followers. I want to show you fun, traditional activities, and cuisine including tea ceremony, Ramen, Sushi, and more. The tours are in English, and I promise to take you where not too many visitors can explore. Let’s roam the backroads together!
