Natalie and I have been hosting AirBnB guests at our rental villas in Punta Rucia for the past 8 years. We receive yearly over a thousand tourists from every corner of the world. We’ve owned a small boat and have been offering our guests very exclusive tours to our famous sandbar, Cayo Arena. It was always our dream to offer our personalized attentions and services on a bigger scale to more tourists besides our guests staying at our villas.

We’ve finally made this dream a reality by opening a Beach Club with our family. We would love to share with you the experience of going to Cayo Arena (Blue Island), one of the most beautiful beach on the island with our Standard Excursion onboard our brand-new motored catamaran.

Incredible experience!Everything from beginning to end was perfect! Our guide explained the history of DR and the culture while we made our way to Playa Punta Rucia and I learned quite a lot!Staff greeted us with a smile at Punta Rucia, met Carl (awesome guy) and we headed out to Playa Arena (Paradise Island). The snorkeling part was the highlight of the experience as the place is full of sea life, and our guide for snorkeling was the best! Also clearest waters I've ever seen in my life! After spending a good few hours and visiting the Mangroves,we headed back to the beach restaurant for one of the best meals I've ever head in DR so far!The beach bar itself had a real character. You could tell the person that decorated it had taste.I really felt at peace there and it was a fantastic ending to our already great experience!Thank you to everyone, the staff at the boat/restaurant,our guides and Carl-Philippe for this amazing experience!

We really loved several parts of this experience - The pick up directly from the hotel is super helpful for people who don’t have access to easy transit, and I can’t say enough good things about the food; I’m a vegetarian, and I felt well-looked-after throughout the day! :-) The little beach club these hosts run is quite beautiful, and just hanging out there for a day with the meals is worth the price of admission! The washrooms are clean, there are showers, comfortable loungers by the beach and some tables and chairs, as well as plentiful coffee and tea and other drinks. As for the excursion to the sandbar, although it is an absolutely stunning place with great snorkelling behind the reef, the photos are not super accurate: There are several tour groups that come to the same Sandbar and so we were sharing this tiny space with upwards of 100 people. Not quite what we expected from an Airbnb experience. :-) That said, we were well looked after throughout the day, and I had a sense that they assigned extra people to look after us especially as we had booked through Airbnb and there were several other people on the boat and at lunch who must have booked through a different arrangement who did not seem to get the same kind of special treatment, so that was kind of nice. The driver who picked us up in the morning and dropped us off at the end of the day came with a guide and both were super friendly. We learned a lot about the history and countryside of Puerto Plata province. My only other complaint/caution would be the music… It is very loud, and ubiquitous, both in the van and on the boat. But I know a lot of people like that sort of thing, and to be fair, the description does mention music, so that may just be me being picky. (The Merengue, bachata and salsa in the morning were good, just too loud!) It is a beautiful place, and definitely an interesting experience. I suspect that the food is considerably better then most similar tours in this area; the hospitality was certainly outstanding!

Great excursion well worth the money and time. It was something like I've never seen or experienced before. The crew was great and went above and beyond. The food was tasty and the rum punch was the best drink I had on the island. Be sure to keep an eye on your fellow travelers and don't sit near those who drank excessively on the ride home. Would do it again in a heartbeat.

Amazing! Only 5 guests on the tour today so we arrived at the sites before the larger groups. Very knowledgeable tour guide and fantastic snorkeling guide. We were in a beautiful catamaran with great music and fresh rum punch while other groups had 10+ people in a tiny unshaded boat.
