Learn more about Evik

Evik

I'm an independent artist who focuses on painting and writing. I've been involved with art since I was 9, since, thanks to a friend of my grandmother, I learned how to paint with oil colors on canvas. As I grew up I also learned other techniques such as tempera, charcoal, silverpoint and a little bit of wood engraving. This first experience happened in Mexico, my place of birth. Although I'm currently more focused on literature, painting is still one of my passions. In Madrid, my favorite museums are: El Prado, Las Ventas and Sorolla. Museo del Prado is one of the main cultural centers all over Europe, it's literally a temple of art, so I hope you give yourself a chance to discover it with me.

Where you'll be

Built by Juan de Villanueva in 1785, Museo del Prado's concept was possible thanks to Fernando VII's royal order, encouraged by his wife: María Isabel de Braganza, being oficially opened to the public in 1819. At first it showed 311 paintings, even thought it already contained around 1510 pieces of art, coming from Reales Sitios.
