About your host

I am a life-time bird conservationist, nature tour guide and scientist with a PhD in Behavioural Ecology. My 20+ year love affair birds mean I can now recognise them through by sight as well as their calls, and I have led nature tours from London Parks to the Ecuadorian Amazon. I am passionate about improving nature awareness and demonstrating the positive impact on well-being that being outdoors…

What we’ll do

Starting at Baker's Street tube station, we will explore the hidden natural wonders of one of London's most well-known parks, Regents Park. Over a relaxed 60-120 minute walk, we will encounter a plethora of bird species from the range of different habitats (trees, gardens, lakes) found in the park, and I can guide you on how to tell them apart by sight and sound. There is also the supporting cast…

What else you should know

London is famed for its unfavourable weather, and though I guarantee to give a tour in any conditions - it might be better to save your tour for a more favourable time. If the forecast is looking bad, you can re-schedule your trip up to 2 hours beforehand (message me to do so).

What I’ll provide

Outdoor gear
I can bring spare binoculars (limited in supply) and bird ID guides.

What to bring

Good walking shoes
Binoculars/Camera
Warm, all-weather clothing

Where you'll be

Our walk begins at Baker's Street, entering the park from York Bridge. We will use quieter pathways to walk through the park and have periodic spells of silence so we can detect the more secretive birds. The round-tour culminates at the bottom of the boating lake, having passed all of the wonderful waterfowl.
