What you'll do
In the South Mt. Tabor neighborhood of Portland you’ll be welcomed into my cozy Rüna Glassworks studio where you will choose the color of and create a stained glass crescent moon using the copper foil technique to take home with you.
The craft of stained glass artistry was passed on to Chevonne by her mother-in-law, Claudia. After spending weekend intensives in her glass studio in Nipomo, CA, Chevonne had the passion and interest to take up stained glass classes closer to home in Los Angeles. After a year of studying under the guidance of Claudia and her LA teachers, she was ready to start her successful venture of showing her pieces. "After almost 20 years of my creative outlet being a professional hair and makeup artist on set, I found a new medium in glass that ignited an overwhelming artistic drive and excitement. Utilizing my extensive study and application in the salon working with color theory, shaping and design has greatly influenced the textures, balance, patterns and colors in my glass work." Chevonne now resides and creates in her Portland home studio.
We’ll be using glass cutters, grinder, soldering iron and patina chemicals. Safety glasses, face masks, gloves and aprons…
