What you'll do
It isn't necessary to be an expert, this experience is suitable for all kind of public that love the nature! The experience takes place in Salento, Quindio a hotspot for migratory and resident birds that every year congregates over the forest spots around the town. It might be driven 10 minutes to start our experience, so our meeting point is at the bus station in Salento. Our 4-5 hour morning excursion begins in open fields, where we will look for grassland birds, then on to riparian habitat for passerines and migrant bird species, Cormorant, Kingfishers and Ducks. While enjoying the plentiful tropical birdlife, we will make our observations count as a contribution to the citizen science project eBird. At the end of the activity, you will have seen a beautiful part of Salento, identified dozens of tropical birds and learned how to contribute to a citizen science project.
