About your host

I work as a firetower builder and restorer on mountains. Most recently worked building a firetower overlooking Mt. Katahdin in Baxter State Park. Pursuing registered guide designation for the state of Maine. I'm passionate about curating excellent outdoor experiences that embrace local lore and the wild nature of where we are.

What we’ll do

We'll climb Mount Katahdin, northern terminus of the Appalachian Trail in Baxter Park, Maine. The name Katahdin is derived from the Penobscot Indian language meaning "Greatest mountain" and our climb will be to 5,267 feet. I am happy to provide any information that will help in connecting the dots for your Katahdin summit. Climbers should plan 12 hours +/- for the trek. Morning departure required for safety of group.

What I’ll provide

Dinner
Supper at local restaurant Sawmill Grill after climb.
Outdoor gear
Guide will be equipped for climb and has possibility of lending spare set (for example crampons).

What to bring

Guests should be physically and mentally prepared for arduous climb.
climbing boots and socks, extra socks.
layered clothing (moisture wicking base, shirt, outer shirt, durable pants.)
rain gear (jacket, gloves, beanie.)
personal sustenance (bag lunch, water, energy bars, drinks).
headlamp.

Climb of Mount Katahdin in Baxter State Park. Supper provided at local Sawmill Grill after climb, joining Mile High Club.
