What you'll do

My goal is to introduce you to flavours and angles of this city that you wouldn’t otherwise have access to. Having traveled and joined many tours myself, I have a good idea of what is really different here and what is just another version of things you already have in the place where you live. Moreover, in this tour, we do our best to show the utmost respect to all religions and to welcome visitors from all beliefs. We start tasting food connected to Afro-Brazilian religions. We continue with a snack originated from Indigenous peoples. Then, we will see some beautiful stained glass windows in a catholic church. Following this, there is an ecumenical temple which is the most visited place in this city, where there will be time for a meditation or prayer if you wish. We will eat some more traditional snacks and end up visiting in an impressive Neo-Pentecostal temple with a large and growing number of believers both in Brazil and around the world, an experience that will help us see how the national culture continue to combine itself and to produce new practices. I selected awarded traditional establishments, where we can try some of the history-packed Brazilian foods. I visited many places and decided for the best itinerary possible that is accessible in about 4 hours. I won't be showing the official monuments of the city that you can visit on your own.

Francisco

I assure you this is a tour, not proselytism. I will be showing different religious cultures, respecting all of them. I’m a carrer officer and a fan of culture and food, having tasted all things you can imagine. I like read about food and history and to collect travel books. After eating, my main passions is traveling. Having lived abroad for 7 years, I took part in walking tours and food experiences in cities of 35 different countries, around all regions of the world. Now, back to Brasilia, I combined the good tips I learned with my family's knowledge of this city to put together this experience, so as to can continue to meet diverse people and talk about culture and food. I have a double major in International Relations and in Journalism. Although I took theology modules in my studies, I don't follow any collective religious practice.

Where you'll be

Religion is a big thing in Brasilia. We will visit a flea market, an Umbanda store, an ice cream joint, a catholic church, an ecumenical complex, a traditional bakery and an evangelical temple. If you want to walk a little more, we can visit a Bhuddist temple also. I also like to stop at a good butchery on our way to talk about local meat cuts.
