What you'll do

We will spend 4 hours felting slippers. Felt slippers are one of the true joys in life. They are warm and mold to your own feet, so it's like being barefoot, but with warm toes.

The class goes through the entire process of feting the slippers using an advanced technique, though the class is for all levels of experience. We goes through design, layout, and the hard work of felting the wool.

We finish with a pair of wet slippers. You will learn how to finish them at home with stitching and applying the soles.
Other things to note
Felting is hard work and we will be on our feet and up to our elbows in soapy water for a couple of hours

My husband and I own Corn Creek Fiber, a fiber arts business, for the last 8 years. At fiber art shows, we are asked to teach and demo different skills. For instance, I have taught dyeing classes, felt slipper classes, yarn spinning, felting soap, felting scarves, and the technique of lock spinning. My husband teaches fiber processing - shearing, skirting, washing, carding - all the things that lead to fiber prep for use and broommaking. Together we have won multiple state and national awards for our art.
