What you'll do
Our adventure begins in front of the remarkable dog fountain in Berczy Park, between the soaring skyscrapers of the Financial District, and the charming Old Town Toronto sections of the city. I provide guests with an in depth run down of the early history of the area, city and it's architecture, the lesser known facts about the dog fountain, park, murals and the buildings lining the way! Absolute magic from here as I will guide us through over 200 years of history and food at the world famous St. Lawrence Market, where we will eat some of the foods that put it on the map! Guests get to choose their own lunch, from some world class cuisines on offer inside one of the finest markets on Earth. Options include Greek, Italian, Portuguese, Canadian oysters, Montreal style bagels and more. Meet the vendors, learn the secrets and indulge! You can't start an afternoon in Toronto any better, and i'll be sure to make sure you see the market like no other. Next we will visit buildings not listed on any tourist map and go back to the early 19th century for some hidden treats from colonial-era Canada! We finish with a fully narrated water taxi/ferry journey to the Toronto Islands. DURING EXTREME WEATHER iN WINTER THIS IS REPLACED WITH A DISTILLERY DISTRICT VISIT AND LIGHT FESTIVAL (WHEN OPERATING). Poor visibility due to snow storms and extreme weather rules out the ferry/islands.
I am one of the most respected tour guides in modern Toronto. I own and operate the highest ranked walking and history tour company in Toronto, where I offer free, paid and private walking tours throughout the year. I am a legal resident of three countries (United Kingdom, United States and Canada), and was educated in Political Science at the University of South Florida, with a degree in International Relations. I would consider myself very, very well educated in all things North America, pre-Canadian and pre-U.S history, Canadian history, early Toronto history, and of course present day Toronto. You are in safe hands! I take guiding and hosting very seriously and I absolutely love meeting people from all over the world and showing them all the wonders of Toronto, sharing both my and their experiences along the way!
