What you'll do

Our adventure begins in front of the remarkable dog fountain in Berczy Park, between the soaring skyscrapers of the Financial District, and the charming Old Town Toronto sections of the city. I provide guests with an in-depth rundown of the early history of the area, city and it's architecture, the lesser-known facts about the dog fountain, park, murals, and the buildings lining the way!

Absolute magic from here as I will guide us through over 200 years of history and food at the world-famous St. Lawrence Market, where we will eat some of the foods that put it on the map! Guests get to choose their lunch, from some world-class cuisines on offer inside one of the finest markets on Earth. Options include Greek, Italian, Portuguese, Canadian oysters, Montreal style bagels, and more. Meet the vendors, learn the secrets, and indulge! You can't start an afternoon in Toronto any better, and I'll be sure to make sure you see the market like no other. Vegan, vegetarian, dietary/allergy-friendly tour!

Now let me guide you through the 30km labyrinth of underground tunnels in the amazing PATH system as we head into the Financial District.

We finish with a fully narrated water taxi/ferry journey to the stunning Toronto Islands. In times of extreme weather and/or poor visibility, the Islands journey will be replaced with a guided tour of the Distillery District!

Let's explore!

I am one of the most respected tour guides in modern Toronto. I own and operate the highest-ranked walking and history tour company in Toronto, where I offer free, paid, and private walking tours throughout the year. I am a legal resident of three countries (United Kingdom, United States and Canada), and was educated in Political Science at the University of South Florida, with a degree in International Relations. I would consider myself very, very well educated in all things North America, pre-Canadian and pre-U.S history, Canadian history, early Toronto history, and of course present-day Toronto. You are in safe hands!

I take guiding and hosting very seriously and I absolutely love meeting people from all over the world and showing them all the wonders of Toronto, sharing both my and their experiences along the way!

This experience was one of my favorite days of our trip. Adam is a legend. Due to Covid-19, our whole group dropped out and we had Adam to ourselves!! The amount of knowledge and detail on this trip is like no other. We had the best food; the freshest oysters and an amazing godfather sandwich. I fell in love with butter tarts. We talked through quiet streets of downtown, took a trip to wade island, the oldest post office; full of rich history. Tailored to our interests, he knew EVERYTHING & took amazing pictures of us! Honestly, you would not regret this experience. You will be full of food and knowledge, leaving with the biggest smile. Thank you Adam. I look forward to more experiences with you on my return.

My husband and I had SUCH a fabulous day exploring Toronto with Adam! This didn't feel like a normal walking tour - it was personalized with Adam's own Toronto experience and recommendations, and infused with just the right amount of history. We had a great time eating our way through St. Lawrence Market (and left FULL - bring your appetite!), exploring the city's PATH system, learning about Old Toronto (including stepping inside Toronto's first post office), and taking the boat over to the Toronto Islands. We were even able to pop over to the St. James Cathedral to see inside, learn about the history, and talk about stained glass. :) I highly recommend taking this tour - there's nothing else like it, and you won't regret it!!

If you want a great introduction to Toronto, this is the tour for you! I'm so glad I did this tour with Adam. Not only did I make a new friend, but he was very knowledgeable about Toronto, its history, and the best food to try. I had been on a tour with Adam already, so it was great to have him personalize my Essential Toronto Tour to show me things I hadn't seen yet. I had a great time and Adam was an excellent guide!

Adam provided a great experience and was really prepared for our group. He never made us feel rushed and took time to answer all our questions. His passion for and love of the history and unique attributes of Toronto were always evident. And the food he selected and provided for us was, in a word, amazing. Highly recommend the pea-meal bacon sandwich on a roll. A great value; but be sure you're ready to walk a lot or you'll miss things you'd regret not seeing.

What a day!!! What a company !! It was our anniversary afternoon and Adam ensured that it was beautiful. Excellent food, beautiful snowfall, ferry ride to the islands, Toronto Skyline, walking through beautiful streets of the city and a really sweet amazing host!!!! What more do you need on your holiday exploring a new city. Adam’s a perfect 10 when it comes to touring. He’s an overflowing cornucopia of Canadian and North American history. He is super educated and very sweet to show you the smallest little secrets of this wonderful city!! P.S - Your Toronto city is incomplete if you haven’t walked the streets with him. We are glad we did it just a day before our flight back home

Adam is super passionate about his knowledge and history of the place, which clearly comes out through his stories and explanations. A very unique and all inclusive tour which covers the city, food as well as a ferry ride to the islands! Adam will go above and beyond to make his guests feel like they are satisfied and happy! Absolutely aptly named by him as the "Essential tour"! Do not miss!
