About your host

I'm an anthropologist and the current research director for The Cabiri, a performance troupe that tells stories from myth and folklore through aerial arts, creative movement, puppetry, and more. The work of the Cabiri is BEAUTIFUL and I am so thrilled to be a part of it. My goal is to help connect our contemporary experiences with stories from ancient cultures and it is these stories that I am…

What we’ll do

You'll join me at 6:30 for a pre-performance drink and discussion at Lucky Envelope Brewing to talk about the upcoming performance. Then at 7:30 we'll make our way down the block to the Arcadia studio for the 8 PM premiere of the Cabiri's 13th annual Ghost Games show, a growing tradition among local enthusiasts of the circus arts. This year's edition is entitled "Devil in the Deep Blue Sea." …

What else you should know

Price includes performance tickets and pre-show discussion with me. Drinks at Lucky Envelope are on you. We'll walk from Lucky Envelope to the Arcadia performance space, about a block away. Guests can sit during the 90 minute performance, but will need to move through the space at times.

What I’ll provide

Show tickets
General admission tickets to the premiere of The Cabiri's 13th annual "Ghost Games" show, Devil in the Deep Blue Sea.

What to bring

Money for drinks at Lucky Envelope Brewing before the show
Comfortable, flat shoes to make it easier to move between spaces during the performance
DO NOT bring backpacks, or other large bags or purses. There is no place to safely store these during the performance

Where you'll be

First, we'll visit Lucky Envelope Brewing in the Ballard neighborhood. This local, award-winning micro-brewery is a particular favorite of mine because it makes "culturally inspired beer" based on historic and modern brewing traditions, blending the ancient and contemporary. Second, we'll make our way down the block to the Arcadia studio, home of the Cabiri for the premier of Devil in the Deep Blue Sea.
