About your host

I am the co-owner of Shamrock Chapel & Belle Vue where these retreats are held. With extensive background in music, literature & the arts, I’ve travelled extensively in Europe, Canada and the USA to put together an experience unique to our area with international standards as framework. I am happy to share this in retreats focussing on mindfulness, physical activities, arts & crafts, journaling…

What we’ll do

After arriving, you will receive something to drink, and we will touch base to get to know one another. We will then do some breathing exercises and guided visualizations so that you can stay present and engaged during the retreat. We will then take a short walk through a lovely bush path, followed by the creative activity of arts and crafts. You don't need to be artistic to take part. We will…

What else you should know

Although I follow a trusted program, I adjust the activities to make it as comfortable as possible for everyone. You won't be pressured to do anything, and we will try to accommodate you as far as possible when we continue with the activities with the other guests.

What I’ll provide

Snacks
We will provide a light, vegetarian meal.
Coffee, Juice, Tea and Water
We will have adequate breaks where we will supply beverages to quench your thirst.
Creative supplies
We will supply everything you will need for your retreat. Just dress comfortably in comfortable shoes and something warm in case the weather gets nippy. If you so wish, you are welcome to bring your own pillow to sit on for your comfort.

What to bring

Bring your camera, in case you want to take a few photos.
Bring a pillow if it will be easier and more comfortable for you to sit. (We do supply chairs)
Bring something to wear in case the weather changes.

Where you'll be

Shamrock Chapel & Belle Vue is located on a mountain overlooking the Sundays River Valley with panoramic and breathtaking views over the Zuurberg mountains. Our interfaith and holistic chapel has no affiliation with any religious organization. It was built out of reclaimed material as a space of silence and contemplation. As an added bonus, the oldest South African built pipe organ, is located in this venue.
