What you'll do
In our jewelry making workshop, you will get the opportunity to...
1) Learn about our sustainable materials and process -
We will spend a few minutes to talk about our eco-conscious materials and process. We will share the what, the how, the why — what they are made of, how it's made, and why we selected it to educate participants on sustainability and mindfulness in design.
2) Hand-select their own pieces and materials - Because we use natural and handmade materials like ethically-sourced buffalo horns, handwoven rattan and mulberry silk, all of our pieces are exquisitely unique. You will get the opportunity to pick the pieces that calls their names and create something truly one-of-a-kind.
3) Design & build their own Hathorway Piece - We'll walk around to help you design and build your own Hathorway jewelry piece whether it's a necklace, a pair of earrings, or a bracelet. We will provide guidance and feedback to help each participant create something that they will be proud of.
Your host
Jessica
In 2015, Jessica travelled to Vietnam to reconnect with her roots. There, she discovered products made of buffalo horns — from chopsticks and spoons to hair combs and jewelry. She began to fall in love with material as she learned it was a byproduct of the food industry, a chemical free creation, an organic material, and a one-a-kind material. While she loved the material, she found all the jewelry styles distasteful, so Jessica bought a few of them and started to reconstruct them to suit her own unique style. As she wore them, she received several compliments and orders that she started her buffalo horn jewelry brand -- Hathorway.com. Today, Hathorway is found in over 30 boutiques, including hotel, stores, and museum shops across America. And in 2019, Jessica started sharing her passion by hosting Hathorway Jewelry Making workshop.
