This was a beautiful experience. Our group had people in the age group from 10 years to mid 60s and John was able to relate to all of us. He has a gift of sharing the history in the story form. If you are considering this tour, take it. It is worth the value and more.

We learned a lot of history about Helen as well as history of the mining of Helen. Waterfall at the end was great - just wish the Mill had been open, but it was Thanksgiving

Our Viking was wonderful and very well educated on the history of Helen. We were running a little late and he was very patient. We got a great tour with fascinating stories and saw some interesting historical relics. Well worth the money and time.

This was a great tour. John did an excellent job conveying the “back story” to northern Georgia and the Helen area. We had our small dog with us too and we all managed with no problems. It’s a beautiful walk through history and totally worth it.

Jon is Amazing! What a historian! We had our grandkids aged 3 to 8 and he was able to keep them all engaged! He had the difficult time of many personalities and many ages. His storytelling is first rate and he was on time and very personable. I would recommend this tour to anyone wanting to know local history.

Historic tour with John is just an incredible journey to the past of this land. We learned quite a piece of a history, saw some amazing artifacts and were even introduced to the basics of geology of this land. Stories about the beginning of the Era of Gold Rush (apparently it is all started here in North Georgia) were quite interesting. As a bonus we experienced walking through the woods by the river in a nice spring day. John is a great story teller, he shared with us all kinds of information about the land and some well-known people who lived on this land. Highly recommended. Irina and Tom
