Mae, organic farm owner, food blogger and certified chocolate taster who passionate about cooking organic food and healthy diet.

I believe that nature has a lot to offer especially local knowledge so I invite my mom to share her secrete recipe of Chian mai local cuisine.

I grew up as helper in my mom and my grandmother's kitchen. Everyday we cook local dishes and share to our neibour and cousins. They enjoy sharing the local wisdom and cooking skills that have been passed down from generation to generation.

I speak Thai as well as English and Chinese.

This was a super romantic trip for our honeymoon where we had the best example of farm to table food I’ve ever had. We picked turmeric, lemongrass, banana flowers, and other exciting flavors and cooked with Mae and her wonderful mother and the food was to die for. They had refreshments ready once we got there, a walkable property on the side of a mountain to grab food and see views, and just the best personalities around. The family atmosphere was quite lovely; Mae speaks English, Mandarin, Thai, and probably more for all I know, and would translate for her Mother who spoke Thai - not that she needed to because her mother communicates just fine through body language and gestures. Guys don’t think twice, this is a must. I would recommend renting a motorbike or car/ or Mae could arrange a lift for you. Go to learn to cook, and leave having learned so much more about Thai culture and experience. It is worth the trip!

We had such a lovely time at the cooking class, in a beautiful place with so many wonderful fruits, vegetables and herbs and spices growing everywhere. Mae was super friendly and welcoming, and very knowledgeable about Thai ingredients, how they grow and how they are used in traditional cooking. It was great to see all the ingredients growing, and learn about how they are harvested and prepared...and then the food! The cooking was great, and Mae and her mother were so lovely and fun, and ultimately we made such incredibly delicious food...felt completely stuffed afterwards!

We loved this day out at Mae's farm so much. What a beautiful spot! Learning about the herbs and plants on the farm and getting to pick and smell and taste as we walked around was great. The cooking was hands-on, and we enjoyed learned tips from Mae and her mum. The dishes themselves were delicious and we ate so much! All in all, a really special experience and definitely not your usual cooking class. Highly recommend :)

The cooking class at Buddha Raksa Nature Farm was incredible! I’ve taken a lot of cooking classes while traveling and this was hands-down the best. It was well organized, the recipes were easy to follow, the farm was gorgeous, and the food was amazing. I liked that we cooked a mix of unique, local dishes (miang kham) and more well-known dishes like Tom Kha (but with turmeric and banana flowers!). We toured the farm first and harvested most of the produce and herbs we cooked with. Mae and her family are so sweet and great hosts. The difference between this and other classes was that Mae seemed genuinely interested in what she was teaching us. I felt like a friend and a guest instead of a number. Pro tip: the class is outdoors but under shade. Just dress for the weather (light colors, loose clothes) and drink all the delicious homemade beverages offered. The outdoor setting is what makes the class uniquely beautiful!
