What you'll do
You will start by meeting me and the always-smiling-super-friendly-fluffball Abizko at the bus station in Tullinge. Together we will jump on the bus 721 which we will stay on for about 20min. Whilst on the bus I will start explaining about the place we are going to, important things you need to know like which mushrooms to neeeeever touch, which ones to avoid, our amazing 5 star mushrooms which chefs from all over the world send out their staff to find and how to tell if it is one to put in the basket or one to leave there. When we reach the destination we will walk along the lake and then start going deeper into the woods to begin our search. Halfway through we will stop to warm up with organic Fika, rest our legs and cuddle with the dog. When we feel ready we continue to look for the mushroom. I will also show you some mystical smoky ones and the ones you probably recognise from many cartoons. After we have filled our baskets(hopefully) and feel satisfied we start heading back to the bus again. On the bus I will let you know how to prepare and clean the mushrooms, share my favorite recipes from my childhood which I still can’t have enough of and also how to dry them and make seasoned salt which makes perfect gifts. After this day you will have gained lots of new experience about different mushrooms, the confidence to pick your own ones and what you can do with them.
Since I was a little child I have spent a lot of time with my family in the Swedish woods, exploring the lives of those whom live there and searching for treats to bring home. My favorite time was when the leaves started to change color meaning it was time for the mushrooms to start coming up, we used to always bring a mushroom guidebook to study while we took a closer look of the ones we had found. Sadly I saw on the news that the number of people seeking help in the hospital for mushroom poisoning has increased with 20% since last year and most of them being tourists which made me come up with the idea of guiding people who are interested in getting our hidden treasures and how to do so in a safe way. I will help you with which ones to look for, how to tell if they are good or bad and the ones to stay far away from.
Organic hot coffee and fika.
A special mushroom knife with a brush to make the picking and cleaning easier. Rain ponchos in case of rain(which is nice…
Where you'll be
The forest we are visiting is located right next to a beautiful lake and is a home to many wild animals like squirrels, foxes, beavers, moose’s, wild pigs and deers. The soft moss we will walk on, the fallen down trees we will climb over are all homes to animals and plants and we are the visitors here so we will be visiting the forest with the deepest respect to nature where we leave no traces behind, keeping it undisturbed and protected.
