What you'll do

We will give you a tour of the olive grove, you can meet some of our friendly farm Animals including our horses, chickens and goat. Depending on the time of year we will then take you out to the grove and teach you how to prune an olive tree for best growth and yield, or we can be picking the olives between April and June, and show you how to prepare them for bottling, or for oil. We will also show you how we prepare the wood for the smoking chips and the leaves for making the tea. As an optional extra we can show you how we smoke the foods with the wood chips and you can sit down and taste the delicious flavors and enjoy a cup of olive leaf tea.

Belinda

Im the owner and founder of Dakota Ridge Olives, a family fun farm and business. We purchased a run down olive grove and farm and have been slowly bringing it back to its former glory. I come from a family of chefs, and good food has always been a passion of mine, although until now not really my career. We have 2650 olive trees and produce olive wood for smoking meats, vegetables and cheeses as well as salts. This enhances the flavor of the foods and takes it to the next level. We also produce olive oils, olive leaf tea and table olives, with a range of beauty and well being products currently being developed. I showcased our unique products to celebrity chefs at both Melbourne and Sydney good good and wine shows and they were a hit! Our entire farm is run by our family, kids included, and we do most things with our own hands!
