What you'll do

Grab your apron and be ready to jump right into the kitchen. You'll learn from the seafood master, Robert Atterberry, how to filet and prepare a wild salmon. Because you're in the Northwest Chef Atterberry will share with you his selection of the day of seafood. It might be mussels, clams, oysters, Dungeness crab or prawns (whichever is freshest and in season when you choose your date). Set your notions about recipes aside. Robert believes that a recipe is "one man's opinion" and he'll be sharing his opinion with you in regards to clam chowder. Chef Robert's has won dozens of awards and you'll walk away with the insider tips of how to create this creamy and delicious clam chowder. We'll chat about veggies and check out what is locally fresh. Skagit Valley is a world leader in growing potatoes, Brussel sprouts, broccoli and cauliflower. In the kitchen you'll learn the best way to prepare our valley's freshest harvest. Creating the perfect dining experience is Barbara's passion. Once class is over the next phase of the fun begins. Join Robert and Barbara for an intimate dinner served with perfectly paired wines in our lovely dining room. We'll enjoy our meal in front of our warming fireplace. Food will be on the table but Robert's sea stories will certainly be the main course. Chef Robert has traveled the worlds oceans - be ready for some salty adventure.

On their wedding night your hosts swore that they would not open a restaurant together; well, they did! Robert and Barbara bring over 40 years of expertise to this intimate dining experience. World renown Chef & Sommelier Robert Atterberry will share his skills in preparing wild salmon and fresh local seafood (Dungeness crab or prawns depending on the season). You'll learn the secret recipe for Bob's world famous clam chowder. We will dine in the formal dining room where, with just the smallest bit of encouragement, Robert will share his seafaring adventures that span the globe. Create a meal and a memory of a lifetime. Cancellation policy

Any experience can be canceled and fully refunded within 24 hours of purchase, or at least 7 days before the experience starts.

Communication policy

Always communicate through Airbnb. To protect your payment, never transfer money or communicate outside of the Airbnb website or app.

Guest requirements

Up to 8 guests ages 12 and up can attend. Let us know if you have any allergies so that we can adjust the menu. Most importantly, come hungry.

Government ID

You’ll need to take a picture of yourself that matches the photo on your ID. This is so Airbnb can confirm who’s actually going on the experience. You’ll only have to do this once.

At our private estate, you'll enjoy a lesson on how to prepare North West seafood by Executive Chef Robert Atterberry. The menu features seafood, seasonal produce (produce featured in photos may not be available) and local bread. We are gluten free friendly, not celiac safe. Dogs are on premises.
