I am founder of Hilo food tours and am born and raised in Hawaii. I lived 13years on the continental US where I did private food tastings for small groups giving history of the area and food and background info on the chefs. What we’ll do

You will meet up with me as your guide at our first location in downtown Hilo, Hawaii, where we start with introductions , the history of our town and how the food is a reflection of that history directly influencing our flavors unique only to hawaii. What else you should know

Water is provided at each sit down stop however bringing your own water is also encouraged. Wear comfortable shoes as Hilo receives a lot of rain and surfaces may become slippery when wet. You can also being an umbrella as well although we do provide umbrellas as well.

Where you'll be

We meet at a family owned-operated restaurant in the heart of Hilo where all japanese-influenced food is made from old family recipes handed down through the generations stemming from immigrants who migrated to hawaii to work the sugarcane fields in the 1800s.
