What you'll do

In just 3 hours you’ll watch your literary heroes spring to life by visiting the streets and favourite watering holes they once frequented. From the legendary Café de Flore in Saint-Germain-des-Près you’ll begin discovering the intellectual nerve centre of Paris, well known for the ‘Lost Generation’ personalities such as Gertrude Stein, Ernest Hemmingway and F. Scott Fitzgerald. You will stroll down the charming cobbled streets, visiting the death place of Oscar Wilde and discover where Benjamin Franklin & Voltaire had their firey philosophical debates. Moving into Odéon, you’ll see the original Shakespeare & Company – the literary cave where customers like James Joyve, Paul Valéry and André Gide have left their creative sprits. You will be introduced to La Sorbonne where Sartre taught existentialist philosophy and uncover the Latin Quarter & the Panthéon – areas where Victor Hugo, Alexandre Dumas & Voltaire rest in peace. Not forgetting a quick trip to the spot that inspired the movie ‘Midnight in Paris’. You will end at one of the most famous bookshops in Europe – Shakespeare & Company; please don’t miss out on taking your own tour inside this impressive store and all it has to offer.
