What you'll do

The trip starts at 8:30AM. We will have a local breakfast next to Al Rahim Mosque where you can enjoy Halal food in Vietnamese original taste which is very different from what is offered in Malaysian street or touristic Halal restaurant. Moving on to District 3, we will visit The weapons storage cellar, where you can find a historical relic weapon cellar by Saigon Commandos to attack the Presidential Palace during the Tet Offensive in 1968. Here you can also have the chance to enjoy a “cafe sua da” - Vietnamese milk coffee. Afterwards, we will make a quick stop at Ban Co Market which sells millions of second-hand items, still in good condition but very affordable price. We will then make our next stop at Tan Thanh Market, the largest motorbike spare parts market of Ho Chi Minh. Thousands of different kinds of spare parts can be found here. Also we will visit Soai Kinh Lam fabric market. We will have lunch at a Halal restaurant nearby Masjid Cholon. We can also have praying time here. We then head on to Binh Tay market. Here, you will discover a vibrant wholesale market where the majority of goods trading occur in Saigon that selling anything from worldwide household items, clothing brands, backpacks, shoes, caps... You can show your bargaining skill (with our support). Price is 30-40% compared with Ben Thanh market. The trip ends around 3PM at your hotel.

Yasin

As-salamu alaykum! Peace be upon you! My name is Yasin. I was born in Ho Chi Minh City or so-called, a Saigonese. I am a Muslim. Islam community accounts for only 0.075% of Vietnam population (700 Muslim out of a million Vietnamese). Therefore, Muslim-friendly activities or Halal food is not so popular to Muslim guests coming to Vietnam. By hosting this experience, I want to show Muslim guests the beauty of Vietnam culture, food, history and social activity through a local Muslim's angle. If you would like to try the best local Vietnamese Halal Food or just simply curious about the life of Islam minority in Vietnam, let's meet.
