What you'll do

Dotonbori, Osaka is one of the most outraeougus remaining displays of neon signs in the world. Most cities have changed to a more generic form of signage, but Osaka still going strong with traditional neon displays. Hundreds of thousands of neon tubes and millions of volts of electricity light up the district and attracts people like flies to light. Together we will walk the Dotonbori river and view the neon spectaculars one by one. I will explain in detail what goes behind the making of the signs, history and stories of neon in Japan, and answer any questions you might have. In addition, as someone who has been working and living in Japan, I can provide you with food and travel recommendations for your visit.

Kody

I work as a neon sign maker in Osaka, Japan. I have worked in neon shops from Route 66, to New York City, and now here in Japan. I have taught neon workshops, worked in production, and have studied the art of neon sign making for years. Definitely a bit of a sign enthusiast/nerd.
