I'm the Executive Director of Redemptive Cycles, Birmingham's Non Profit Bike Shop. I'm a fierce advocate for transportation equity in Birmingham, AL and work tirelessly to ensure that our homeless & low-income clients have access to sustainable transportation. About Redemptive Cycles

Redemptive Cycles is Downtown Birmingham's Non Profit Bike Shop. We believe strongly that transportation equity is a key component of social equity. We know from experience that when a low-income or homeless community member takes ownership of a bike that they have a greater opportunity to scale socioeconomic barriers.
This is a social impact experience where 100% of what you pay for this experience goes to Redemptive Cycles. .

What we’ll do

You'll be greeted by me & given a tour of the bike shop. We'll discuss our charitable programming & the issues facing low-income & homeless in the local & larger community. Once the shop tour concludes (20mins) we'll take a spin around the block to ensure that you are comfortable on the bikes you will be riding & to make any final fit adjustments (I'll reach out prior to get your height &…

What else you should know

Guests should be comfortable & confident on a bicycle. We will be riding hybrid, flat pedal bikes but please be able to control speed, momentum and direction of a bike :)

Where you'll be

Our bike shop is a magical place. We serve as an inclusive and welcoming home for all walks of life. We'll with a tour here. We'll then ride to the Civil Rights Museum and discover the unmarked funeral parlor where Civil Rights plans were made in secrecy. From there, we'll pass The Alabama & Lyric theaters and chat about the city's colorful history. We'll cruise to Rotary Trail, visit an iconic mural & stop for a beer. We'll end back at the shop

Things to keep in mind

Cancellation policy

Any experience can be canceled and fully refunded within 24 hours of purchase, or at least 7 days before the experience starts.

Communication policy

Always communicate through Airbnb. To protect your payment, never transfer money or communicate outside of the Airbnb website or app.

Guest requirements

Up to 6 guests ages 16 and up can attend.

Government ID

You’ll need to take a picture of yourself that matches the photo on your ID. This is so Airbnb can confirm who’s actually going on the experience. You’ll only have to do this once.

Alcohol

This experience includes alcohol. Only guests who meet the legal drinking age will be served alcoholic beverages.
