I'm a member of the Rachel Carson Reserve's advisory board and collaborate with local researchers. As a former middle school science teacher, I've led excursions through the reserve for over 30 years. I have extensive knowledge of the maritime history and coastal dynamics along the southern outer banks of North Carolina. I'm also a USCG-OUPV boat captain.
