What you'll do

We will mix the Trabi journey with passing by the most well-known monuments. Starting point is at Heroes Square, through Andrássy avenue follow our way towards the Opera and the Great Market Hall. Crossing the Liberty Bridge we approach Gellért Hill and the Statue of Liberty. The next destination is Buda Castle and Fishermen Bastion. The House of Parlament is the last main attraction of our trip. Before finishing our trip in Városliget you can drive this memento of the communist era yourself. During our trip you get a great view of the historical buildings and monuments of Budapest. We will also stop several times to visit the best spots and shoot great photos. (We will agree on the exact stops and route depending on the traffic.) Just after a a short technical instruction you will be familiar with Trabi and you can easily drive it.

Anica

Hi we are a couple, Anica and Imi. We have been living in budapest for a long time and I'm still thrilled by the beauty of the city! Although my daily work is not related to tourism, but as an Airbnb superhost, I can be a little bit part of it. I feel honoured when I meet people from all over the world. I love listening their life stories and experiences gathered during their stay in Hungary. I would like to show you my wonderful city and share a memory from our past by riding the Trabi. Enjoy the ride and the spirit of the communist era!

More tips

Trabant was produced during the communist era in 1980. It is often seen as an symbolic of the communist life style, it was loud, slow and poorly designed and it has a special gearshift system.
